Lamkin Elementary School in Cypress,TX is home to Cub Scout Pack 537. Cub Scouting is filled with activities that are used to achieve the aims of Scouting, including —citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness in weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings. Additionally, throughout the year, we do special events including Pinewood Derby, pushmobile racing, Fall and Spring campouts, among others.
Apart from the fun and excitement of all the activities, Cub Scouting teaches citizenship, a sense of brotherhood with the other boys, and contributes to a boy's sense of belonging. It is open to any 1st through 5th grade boy and they are welcome to join at any time during the year. See our Pack Events for more information.
We have an active Cub Scout program, with Pack meetings the 4th Thursday of every month at Lamkin Elementary, along with Den meetings and other experiences throughout the year.
We encourage attendance at as many activities as possible. Some activities can help the boys advance through the Cub Scout ranks or earn belt loops and badges.
We want parents to be active as well! We have numerous positions available, ranging from a once-a-year commitment, to Den Leader to Pack administration. Our Pack Committee is made up of leaders and other adults, and is always open to parents. This committee usually meets the first Sunday of the month to discuss and plan events, to support the plans made by Den leaders, and the fund raising necessary to help the Pack go.
